Geek Alabama Animation

This week on Animation Monday, let’s talk about three different shows that are very popular with the geeks and nerds out there.  First off, I hope you have plans to watch Phineas and Ferb: Mission Marvel this Friday night!

Phineas and Ferb: Mission Marvel

This Friday at 8/7 pm central, Disney Channel is going to present this special one-hour episode where Phineas and Ferb teams up with several superheroes from the Marvel Universe like Thor, Spiderman, The Hulk, and Iron Man.  Their mission, help the superheroes in getting their super powers back.  Also in this special, nemeses Red Skull, Venom, Whiplash and M.O.D.O.K. discover that evil Dr. Doofenshmirtz is really responsible, and they team up with him to achieve world domination.

In this special, Candace is really fascinated with the superheroes and actually wants to help save the day and not bust her brothers for a change.  Look for Agent P to get involved with the superhero action.  And don’t forget about Stan Lee, who always appears in anything Marvel on TV or in the movies.  If you like anything superheroes, watch this special on Friday night!  Then stick around to watch the new show Wonder Over Yonder.

If you have seen The Powerpuff Girls or Foster’s Home For Imaginary Friends, then you have seen the creative mind of creator Craig McCracken.  Now, Craig is making his newest show called Wonder Over Yonder.  This show follows Wander (voiced by Jack McBrayer), an overly-optimistic intergalactic traveler and his steed Sylvia traveling from planet to planet helping people have fun and live free, all against Lord Hater and his army of Watchdogs’ evil reign.  Here’s a clip from the first episode!

McCracken is the show’s creator and executive producer while wife Lauren Faust will serve as co-producer and story editor.  I can’t wait to watch the premiere episode and talk about it on Geek Alabama next week!  No doubt, I think Wonder Over Yonder is going to be a big hit for Disney Channel!  The show premieres this Friday at 9/8 pm central!  Click the link to read this great interview from Animation Magazine.  http://www.animationmagazine.net/tv/a-walk-on-the-bright-side/

My Little Pony Facebook Header

UPDATE: The Facebook header was changed again to this.

One more thing on this post, today the My Little Pony Facebook page changed their header.  Yes, this header shows Princess Twilight Sparkle reading a lot of books with titles like Facebook for Fillies, Horsey Hashtags, Hashtags for Ponies, Meme 4 Youyou, HTML huh?, Selfies for ponies, and @ for Ponies.  This header looks great but there is one problem.

My Little Pony Facebook header photo.

Many fans have said that this header was taken from the background of Fighting Is Magic.  Hasbro sent a cease and desist order to the makers of the game Mane 6 to stop making the fighting game which involved ponies fighting each other to the death.  This background is in the game.

Either Hasbro got permission from the creators of the game to use the background, or they took it to make the Facebook cover photo.  I am hoping they asked for permission at least.  But if it was taken from the game creators, at least acknowledge that the background was made by someone else.  Either way, the Facebook cover photo is great!
