When you watch any college sports on ESPN, you will see a promotional commercial from both schools playing in the game you are watching. So when I saw this commercial during the BCS championship game, I am sure several people thought it was for a real university.
This commercial for Monsters University is not a real school. They are airing these ads for the new Disney/Pixar movie titled Monsters University which is the prequel to the 2001 Monsters Inc. movie. This movie is set about ten years before the events in the Monsters Inc. movie. 18-year-old James P. “Sulley” Sullivan (voiced by John Goodman), and 17-year-old Michael “Mike” Wazowski (voiced by Billy Crystal) meet in college and are in the same fraternity, while planning to become scarers at Monsters, Inc. This trailer for the movie was funny!
Pixar has even created a fully functioning Monsters University website that looks that looks remarkably like your typical college website. The website has everything you expect to see from a regular university website including merchandise which you can buy. You can reach the website at: http://monstersuniversity.com.
Monsters University comes out on June 21st! Yes, I think this movie is going to very popular with the kids and young adult crowd.
