An Animation Monday Christmas: My Favorite Christmas Specials

We see Christmas every year.  And we will really enjoy all of those Christmas TV and movies specials we see each year.  But I have a list of my favorite Christmas animated specials that I love to see each year.  Here is my top four animated Christmas specials!

Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer

This is probably the most well-known Christmas animated TV special.  What I like about this special is the use of claymation which is not used much anymore.  It took a lot of skill and time to put together the one hour TV special about the story of Rudolph.  We all enjoy the story of seeing how Rudolph grew up to become the head of Santa’s sleigh.  And I really enjoy the song; Rudolph with your nose so bright; won’t you guide my sleigh tonight?

Charlie Brown Christmas

Everyone enjoys the classic Peanuts TV specials.  The one thing that makes this special great is that little tree with the one ornament on it which is bent over.  But this special deals with what we are all-seeing in the Christmas Season today.  An over commercialism of Christmas.  It does not matter if you have the brightest lights, the biggest tree, or the best presents.  All it matters is you enjoy the Christmas season.  The Christmas play the Peanuts gang puts together and Linus quoting the Bible verse Luke: 8-14 makes this a great animated Christmas special.

How The Grinch Stole Christmas

This is probably Dr. Seuss most famous story.  The Who’s down in Whoville are getting ready for Christmas which includes a huge holiday feast.  The Grinch who lives in a cave above Whoville has a heart two sizes too small.  The Grinch dresses as Santa and with the help of his dog Max, they go to Whoville and steal everything Christmas.  But the Who’s start singing and Mr. Grinch finally understands the true meaning of Christmas and returns everything Christmas to the Who’s.  Everything about this special is great including the songs You’re A Mean One, Mr. Grinch and Welcome Christmas.  Another great Christmas Special!

Phineas and Ferb Christmas Special

This is a current Christmas special that is only a couple of years old.  But I believe you can not have Christmas without the P&F Christmas special.  You have not seen it yet?  You need to see it because the comedy and storytelling is great.  It shows you no matter what happens bad and evil.  Coming together and teamwork can turn things around and save the day.  And the latest Christmas special with guest Kelly Clarkson was good as well!

I will be spending my Christmas Eve and Day enjoying many Christmas specials.  And I am not ashamed to say that.  How about you?
