Job Fair in Birmingham
I am heading to my 10th job fair since I became unemployed last July 2011. But there’s hope that the 10th time is the charm. This job fair is hosted by Congresswoman Terri A. Sewell and they say there will be 100 employers; let’s hope that is true. This job fair is from 10am-3pm at the BJCC East Exhibition Hall and will also feature some workshops as well. I am heading there today and will have a wrap up post on Thursday here on Geek Alabama. Look at the flyer below for more information on this job fair. Will my search for my 14th job in 6 1/2 years come to an end? Let’s hope so!
Anniston Mayoral Forum
A very good crowd turned out for the Anniston Mayoral Forum at the Anniston City Meeting Center. The moderators whom included Dr. Natalie Davis from Birmingham Southern College kept the pace going with the 11 mayor candidates. Only five questions were asked during the forum because of the 11 candidates and I do hope we can have another forum with the remaining mayor candidates who survive the general election to get ready for the runoff because it’s that important for the citizens of Anniston to vote in the right people to help turn this city and region around.
