Jennifer’s Ride: Passport For A Cure 2012

All throughout the day on Saturday.  I followed a group of motorcycles on a ride throughout NE Alabama as they rode in the 2nd annual Jennifer’s Ride: Passport For A Cure.  This charity was started by Charles Daniel; the morning meteorologist for ABC 33/40.  Charles sister Jennifer has Muscular Dystrophy and the charity was started by him and his wife as a way to honor his sister.  And to help raise funds for research and to also benefit the camps that support the kids with MD.

The ride had over 70 bikes participating on roads around NE Alabama with stops at Jack’s Restaurants in Ashville, Oneonta, Gadsden, and Lincoln.  The ride started at Riders Harley Davidson in Trussville and ended at Heart of Dixie Harley Davidson in Pelham with a celebration that had food, music, and a silent auction.  The goal with Jennifer’s Ride is to develop this into one of the best fundraisers for MDA as well as one of the best motorcycle rallies in the area. Going forward we will continue to expand our reach and activities with Jennifer’s Ride.  For more information go to https://www.facebook.com/JennifersRide Enjoy the video and photos!

Photos of bikers coming off I-59 and the Ashville Jack’s.

Bikers had a passport stamped at each Jack’s.

I caught up with the bikers in Attalla.  Sorry for the quick u-turn on U.S. 278.  (I was the one in that white car)

Bikers at the Jack’s on Rainbow Dr. in Gadsden.  Thanks for the free lunch!

Yummy free lunch!

By the way did you know that the Jack’s on Rainbow Dr. has a boat drive-thru?  Walk up and order and someone brings the food out to you.

Bikers next stop was the Jack’s in Lincoln.

At Heart of Dixie Harley Davidson there was a celebration with music, silent auction, food from Jim N’ Nicks BBQ and ice cream from Blue Bell.  A great ending to the day.
