Animation Monday: The Best of 2011

So here we are at the beginning of 2012.  But as we look back at 2011 there was great animation on TV that everyone enjoyed and came back for more.   So let’s recap some of the best moments of animation in 2011.

Beavis and Butt-Head and ThunderCats Returns to TV

Two classic TV cartoon shows made a comeback in 2011.  Beavis and Butt-Head made a return to MTV and never left off with their jokes of society.  ThunderCats came back to Cartoon Network and it looks better than ever.  It revives two series that adults today watched growing up and it gives the young ones today something new to watch that their parents will want to watch as well.

Phineas and Ferb

This show on Disney Channel has been breaking records all year long including having the Phineas and Ferb 2D movie be the most watched TV animated cable movie of 2011.  Phineas and Ferb is great because it encourages everyone to seize the day and the writing and music in the show is awesome as well.

Adventure Time / The Regular Show

Both of these shows on Cartoon Network have become hits among the boy and guy crowds.  And they are also having a big adult following as well.  The writing and the weird adventures that both shows go through make these shows interesting to watch.  My brother really loves these shows and I am starting to like them as well.

Star Wars The Clone Wars

This show gives all the geeks and nerds out there something to look forward too since Star Wars is no longer being made.  What is not to love about this show.  It features great computer animation and we get to see all the great stuff that makes Star Wars great.  A great treat to all science fiction fans out there.

Looney Tunes Returns to TV

The Looney Tunes also returned to TV in 2011 but their show is one I have really not liked. The Looney Tunes show is trying to become a weird animation comedy show that in my opinion is not working.  They need to go back to the classic shorts that we all love.

The show from the same guy that created The Simpsons has come back from the cancellation bear and has not missed a beat.  It is giving Comedy Central a new business in animation comedy.

My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic

What; why would I put this show in my list.  Because the writing in this show is spot on.  My Little Pony has been a surprise hit for The Hub and is quickly gaining a huge fan base.  Who would have fought a show for girls would be very popular?

Young Justice

The year 2011 has been great for action animation shows.  Young Justice on Cartoon Network has been a great action animation show.  This show is the next chapter from Teen Titans and it has the great action and fight scenes every action show needs.

Jake and the Never Land Pirates

This has been one of the best preschool animation shows of 2011.  And even this show is gaining a adult fan base.  The writing in this show is great and it encourages kids to play along with the show and solve problems.  And the animation is great as well.

Archer and South Park

Both of these show kept on going along in 2011 with their extreme adult humor and action that is for adults only.  At least the adults have animation that they can enjoy that is not suitable for kids to watch.
