What do you get when the Jacksonville State University Marching Southerners helps a former bandmate propose to their drum major, you get a lot of music and cheers! Former bandmate Nic Burgess, who is now a Jacksonville State alumni, got the help of some of his former bandmates to help propose to his girlfriend named Kara Mullinax, who is the drum major this year. The band plays a song, then turns over their drums which says “Kara Merry Me.” Of course, Kara was shocked, the crowd cheered, and she said yes!
