How Would You Explain Mister Rogers To Kids Today

Advertisements

Remember Mister Rogers Neighborhood?  Mister Rogers was played by Fred Rogers, and on every weekday afternoon, you could find Mister Rogers at his house coming inside, changing his shoes and sweater, and singing “Won’t You Be My Neighbor?”  After changing into more comfortable clothing, Mr. Rogers would speak directly to the viewer about various issues, taking the viewer on tours of factories, demonstrating experiments, crafts, and music, and interacting with his friends.  Another highlight was taking the viewers to the Neighborhood Of Make-Believe via the Neighborhood Trolley.  It was truly one of the best kids shows on during it’s run!

So, the folks from Buzzfeed have put together a great video explaining Mister Rogers to young kids today.  Modern kids today probably do not know who Mister Rogers was, so if you have a chance, why not pull up a Mister Rogers video from YouTube and show your kids what Mister Rogers was all about?
