American Idol has been a great thing for the state of Alabama!  And now, season 13 of the show is going to have four contestants moving into the live shows!  This week, in what is called Rush Week, the top 15 girls will perform on Tuesday night, the top 15 guys will perform on Wednesday, that night we will also learn which of the two guys left hanging gets into the top 30.  But be warned, according to American Idol, the judges, Keith Urban, Jennifer Lopez and Harry Connick Jr. will make cuts before the performances begin.

And on Thursday, the top 10 contestants by votes will make the cut.  And the judges will get to pick three wild card contestants to round out the top 13.  Judging Alabama’s track record on American Idol, count on some (or all) of the four people from Alabama making it into the top 13!

So who are these four people from Alabama?  Let’s talk about them!

C. J. Harris has been playing since he could pick up a guitar and has a deep love of country music.  Sadly, his father recently passed away from a massive heart attack.  C.J. is currently a guitar teacher and his favorite thing to do is to get up on the stage and play for a crowd, big or small.  During his audition in Salt Lake City, C.J. sang “Soulshine” by Warren Haynes, dedicating the performance to his dad.
