Grace from Outer Space is a rhyming picture book story for kids about ages 4-8 years old. It’s a slice of life story, depicting what it might be like for a little girl to live on a space ship with her family.  It’s full of wonder, imagination, and best of all, scientific facts!  In reading the book, kids will learn through the eyes of our curious heroine.  Some of the ideas introduced by ‘Grace’ include the concept of black holes, the speed of light, and dark energy.  The book is to get young girls interested in astronomy, science, and technology.  The author wants to help inspire the next generation of women to explore careers in science, tech, engineering and math.

As of July 14th, this project has raised around $11,700 of their $66,000 goal.  This project only has less than one day left to raise their $66,000 goal.  For a pledge of $15, you will get a official GfOS postcard with a personalized thank you from the author plus an advance PDF of the book.  For a pledge of $50, you will get to be part of the design process!  There are also many more awesome pledge levels!  To learn more and to pledge, go to:  http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/jennabryson/grace-from-outer-space

The Quarter-Life Breakthrough

the-quarter-life-breakthrough-cover-final

This book is going to be about how the Millennial Generation can move forward with life.  The book will be written by Smiley Poswolsky and will be about what has worked in his own search for meaningful work.  It’s a book about finding a way to make a living, working hard, doing something you love.  He believes it’s unacceptable that half of Americans are unsatisfied with their jobs, and this book is for everyone who feels the same way.  This book is for everyone who believes the quarter-life crisis shouldn’t be a crisis, but a breakthrough, a moment of empowerment and opportunity.

As of July 14th, this project has raised around $10,200 of their $9,000 goal.  This project only has 13 days left to raise as much as it can.  For a pledge of $20, you will get the book autographed by the author.  For a pledge of $35, you will get the autographed book plus a special poster!  There are also many more awesome pledge levels!  To learn more and to pledge, go to: http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/the-quarter-life-breakthrough/x/3587818?c=home

This project is raising funds to take all 50 of these United States of America and re-create them in fine porcelain.  They are made to scale with one another and fit seamlessly with their neighbor to form the entire nation.  Their uses are plentiful; baking dish, serving tray, conversation piece, collecting tray, tapas plate, etc.  They can act as stand alone state plates, pieced together as regions on your dinner table, or hand picked to be the places that mean the most to you.  The Fifty United Plates will go from table to gallery as our final goal will be an exhibition highlighting community, craft, and small-scale American manufacturing.

TheNerdyBomb.com is about to explode

This is to help out another great blog like Geek Alabama.  The Nerdy Bomb has a team of dedicated writers, producing original content geared towards all areas of “nerd culture.” Their site isn’t just geared to the biggest movies, TV shows, and comic books.  They also discuss board gaming, science and technology, parenting, and more.  Something else that sets them apart is their focus on the “independent creator.”  At TheNerdyBomb, they realize that great content does not just come from big corporations, but from small business or even no business at all.  They interview and feature the “independent creator” on TheNerdyBomb, knowing that they can help others succeed, together.

As of July 14th, this project has raised around $2,900 of their $10,000 goal.  This project only has 9 days left to raise as much as it can.  For a pledge of $20, you will get a magnet set and a digital gift pack.  For a pledge of $40, you will get a set of “Herofied Helm” 4″x6″ prints plus magnets and the digital gift pack.  There are also many more awesome pledge levels!  To learn more and to pledge, go to: http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/thenerdybomb-com-is-about-to-explode/x/3587818
