How to Help the Adairsville Georgia Tornado Victims

Everyone is now starting to ask on what they can do to help the victims of the Adairsville Georgia tornado. A plant that employed 100 people collapsed, homes are destroyed and lives are temporarily in limbo there. On Wednesday, a EF-3 tornado ripped through the town. One smart thing about weather disasters is the use of social media. A Facebook page titled: Adairsville GA Tornado Recovery is now online giving people information on services available. And this post will be about two Alabama based charities that will be heading to Adairsville Georgia this weekend. Toomer’s for Tuscaloosa has started a CrowdRise fundraiser to raise funds to help the tornado victims and to pay for supplies, gas, and food. Toomer’s for Tuscaloosa will also be stuffing a truck of supplies to be sent to the Adairsville, GA damage areas on Saturday. On Friday February 1st from 10 am to 9 pm; a truck will be at the Walmart on Highway 280 in Birmingham. Some of the things needed includes non-perishable food items, hygiene items, paper plates, forks, spoons, garbage bags, contractor bags, rubbermaid type totes, first aid supplies, baby supplies, diapers, hand sanitizer, charcoal, paper products, tarps, blankets, and anything else needed in a disaster zone.

Another Alabama based charity will be helping the Adairsville Georgia tornado victims. Operation Hug Me Tight is raising money to purchase teddy bears to frightened, displaced children in the tornado zone. In the eyes of an adult, a Teddy Bear may not seem like much, but to a child who has lost everything, a new Teddy Bear has proven to be a Godsend. With Build-A-Bear’s help, each dollar given has the potential to reach even more children in need.
