On Christmas Day several tornadoes tore through the deep south. In Alabama several counties in south Alabama experienced damage from the tornadoes. The biggest tornado so far that is rated was in Mobile. The NWS has rated the tornado that moved through the city of Mobile as an EF-2 with estimate winds of 111-135mph based on preliminary damage surveys. Here is the radar image of the storm producing the tornado!
The tornado was caught on a tower cam from the Holiday Inn in Mobile. Here is footage from Fox 10 TV.
Here is footage from the Walgreens Pharmacy on Government Sreet at the loop in Mobile Alabama. The tornado struck the area and the footage shows the damage from both outside and inside of the business. The biggest question I have is why would customers be shopping on Christmas Day?
Here is a video shot from downtown Mobile showing the tornado along with the power flashes! Crazy stuff!
So far no one was seriously injured or killed. And that folks is a Christmas miracle!
