Roadscapes Wednesday: AL Route 202

The Anniston area has two bypasses to get around all of that traffic on Quintard Ave.  The Anniston Eastern Bypass is still being built and I hope its ready in 2014.  But the Anniston Western Bypass has been completed for years now.  The bypass carries AL Route 202 from Interstate 20 to downtown Anniston.  The bypass is also named the Donald G. Holmes bypass as well.  The route begins at Interstate 20 and quickly meets U.S. 78.  Then the route meets Bynum Blvd., the old road for AL-202.  Then the route meets up with Bynum-Leatherwood Road or Calhoun County 109.  This road serves as a bypass for the Saks area to connect to U.S. 431.  Then AL-202 meets a traffic light at Hunter St.  Then; the route dips and crosses two bridges and meets up at Gurnee Ave., Noble St., Wilmer Ave., and the route ends at Quintard Ave.  Enjoy the pictures!
