This is week 41 in my series of Shape Up! The weekly post on what I did over the last week in my quest to getting healthier.
I am watching all the Hurricane Sandy coverage on TV and social media. I have already seen some horrible pictures from this storm and all I can say is to pray! Many people are going to have damage from this storm. And people in the northeast are going to experience power outages and supply shortages for the next few weeks. So I hope for the best in the northeast.
Over the last week I have done a lot of walking. In fact on Sunday my legs were very sore. On Saturday I had to go from event to event. And at times I was power walking from my car to an event to take photos. By Saturday night I was very tired and slept in Sunday morning. I guess it’s good that I am doing the walking since I can’t do anything else due to income. The same thing goes for eating as well. The last two weekends I have been very lucky. On Friday nights I can get some BBQ at the TV station. And on Saturday I have gotten some free BBQ and other foods. That means I don’t have to spend any money on food! I wish it would have not come down to that. Having to eat extra food because you are hungry. That just plain sucks!
Recently I went to the Coldwater Mountain Bike Trails here in Anniston. The cool thing about the trails is you don’t need a bike to use them. You are allowed to walk on them as well. It is recommended to walk the wrong way on the trails so you can see the cyclists coming and you can get out-of-the-way. It would not be fun having the cyclists coming up from behind. In about one hour you can walk or run the short loop and the trail is easy to use since they were created for bikes. You could also walk or run the 10.5 mile long loop but that would be crazy! Here are some pictures from the trail.
Last Week I had plenty of leftover food from the BBQ that I ate. And since I have been unemployed for 15 months now I can not afford anything else. Here is what I ate last week:
Saturday: Burgers, Corn, Diet Coke.
Sunday: Chicken Wings, Corn, Diet Coke.
Monday: Burgers, Diet Coke.
Tuesday: Chicken and Dumplings, Diet Coke.
Wednesday: Party Pizza, Diet Coke.
Thursday: Burgers, Diet Coke.
Friday: BBQ, Sweet tea.
