This is week 40 in my series of Shape Up! The weekly post on what I did over the last week in my quest to getting healthier.
I was planning on writing my Shape Up post last Saturday but after all the things that went wrong I needed to take a breather. It all started when I logged on to check my bank account. Somehow my cable bill was charged twice! That was $240 that was taken right out of my bank account. I called Cable One and BBVA Compass but it was Saturday. So I had to wait until Monday Morning to try to get this resolved. I went down to a BBVA Compass branch and they did call someone but they said they could do nothing about it. They said they knew about the situation but they did not know when my $120 would be given back to me. I looked at my bank account this morning and the $120 is back into my account. But this latest episode is making my decision to switch banks very easy! Last week when I was at The Taste of Calhoun County I talked to several banks and the people said I was getting screwed. Getting charged $10.95 a month for my checking account is not good.
If you thought the bank issue was the only bad thing to go wrong on Saturday you’re wrong. While driving to the events I covered it seemed like every traffic light turned red on me. And on multiple times I was followed by a police officer. No I was not in trouble it is just the luck of the draw sometimes. Then while I was going up to Mt. Cheaha a group of motorcycle riders went around me while I was paying admission. Then one of the motorcycle riders crashed! Then I went around the stopped motorcycle riders when they almost drove right into my car. No one got hurt.
All of the bad things going on almost made me just stop and go back home for the rest of the day. When I usually have these days where everything goes wrong I usually stop and go back home and stay there. I am a person that can not take multiple horrible things on a single day. At least the rest of my Saturday went okay. I spent some time reflecting about my life. I am 15 months unemployed and still searching for my 14th job in seven years. And after going to my 13th job fair last week I am getting tired of the job search.
Only three employers were present. And two of those employers I have applied too before. Only CSX was the only employer I have not applied too before. I just don’t know what is going on. When I log on to job search websites jobs are there; but when I go read the descriptions and they say you must have multiple years of experience or you must have a good job history I still try to apply only to never be contacted back again. And for employers such as Lowe’s, Home Depot, Best Buy, Wal-Mart, and even McDonald’s which I have applied too. They make you apply online and then they make you take the aptitude test. I think these tests should be illegal as they weed out the people like me who are different. By the way I am coming out with a special post and video on Wednesday. It’s about someone on Twitter who said something not cool about me.
The last week I just did some walking and only eating once a day. Being jobless for this long hurts big time!
Here is what I ate last week:
Saturday: Breakfast Buffet, Party Pizza, Sweet Tea.
Sunday: Tacos, Sweet Tea.
Monday: Chicken Sandwich, Diet Coke.
Tuesday: Burgers, Diet Coke.
Wednesday: Chicken and Dumplings, Diet Coke.
Thursday: Party Pizza, Diet Coke.
Friday: BBQ, Sweet tea.
Have a wonderful week everyone!
