Venus Passing In Front of the Sun

On Tuesday evening I went to see history.  The planet Venus passed in front of the sun on Tuesday.  Something that will never happen again until 2113.  The folks from Jacksonville State University had several telescopes and a live webcast set up on the 12th floor of the Houston Cole Library.  The observation deck had many people out looking at something we will never see again!  Here is the video first.

Two telescopes were used for the viewing.  The reflective telescope can even show the clouds passing by the sun!

By the way the views on top of the Houston Cole Library are amazing!

Grass needs some work.

Sadly after about an hour the clouds moved in.

Then I went on top of Jacksonville Mountain and took some great sunset photos.  The clouds make any sunset even better!
