This is week six in my series of Shape Up! The weekly post on what I did over the last week in my quest to getting healthier.
Here is my story on ABC 33/40.
You know the feeling; Monday is going great during the James Spann social media luncheon and then on Tuesday. Bam! You get sick. This has been a tough week as I spent most of the work week being sick. You know the high fever; sore throat; and stuffy nose. Well today on Friday I have gotten better and next week I will get back to the walking. The last weekend was very nice. Saturday I went to cover a pancake breakfast and hike to a waterfall and on Sunday I went to my mom’s house to make dog cookies. And my mom’s dog Georgina really loved them.
I guess the good thing in being sick is you barely eat anything. Most of the week I only drank fluids like milk and orange juice and had chicken noodle soup or chicken and dumplings. The rest of the last week I had yogurt or cereal for breakfast and had a couple of good meals like pork chops and chicken breast. When you are sick you really have no appetite and you are not hungry at all. At least on Friday I ate a little more since I now feel a lot better.
I also talked to a lot of people over the last week. I talked to Scott McClellan on Monday during the luncheon and I know I really need a smartphone very soon. My old cell phone does not cut it any more. The Alabama Social Media Association who put on the luncheon tweeted my blog post and that drove lots of traffic this week. This has been a really good week for this blog. And on Friday I did a Skype chat with Tina Cook who is a social media expert and is from South Africa. And after the chat today I have a lot of ideas to move this blog in a great new direction. Stay tuned for details!
Here is what I ate in the last week:
Sunday: Cereal; Pork chop; Cornbread; Milo’s no calorie tea; Peanut butter cookies.
Monday: Turkey sandwich with chips; french bread pizza; Milo’s no calorie tea.
Tuesday: Chicken noodle soup; Milo’s no calorie tea; Orange juice.
Wednesday: Chicken noodle soup; Milo’s no calorie tea; Orange juice.
Thursday: Chicken and dumplings; Milo’s no calorie tea; Orange juice.
Friday: Cereal; Small pizza; Milo’s no calorie tea.
Have a good week everyone!
