I have to admit when I saw this list today I got in a good laugh. This list from College Humor lists the 10 slacker colleges that like to be lazy. And all 10 of these schools have something in common. No they are not in the same conference. They all have very successful football programs and they all have won football national championships.
- Penn State
- Florida
- Virginia Tech
- Oklahoma
- Auburn (ouch!)
- Alabama
- LSU
- Tennessee
- Clemson
- Michigan State
Now all of these schools have their own top notch education programs like engineering and science. But the fans of these schools will go through anything because they love college football. And some fans will happily talk to anyone to trash their rivals. I am not here to bash college sports. But all schools need to care more about education than the record of your sports teams. So your football team is having a bad season. Who cares! As long as the players are getting a good education and are getting good grades. That is the lesson the sports fans need to learn. Let’s root for the athletes to be good in school and get good grades. And let’s cheer when they walk across the stage and they get their diploma. Sports is a great thing to have in college. But we also have to care about the education as well.
