Animation Monday: Phineas and Ferb Time Shift Weekend

During all the fun at Word Camp Birmingham I had a hoot watching the Phineas and Ferb time shift episodes.  Each episode took viewers to a different part of history with Phineas and Ferb and their friends doing the same things you see in the Danville episodes.  And of course Candace was still trying to bust her brothers with no luck what so ever.  And Dr. Doof and Perry were still battling each other.  Although Perry looks different in each time period.  Hands down my favorite was Tri-Stone Area.

This episode was very special indeed.  For starters no one was speaking English and were only speaking caveman talk.  Just a lot of grunts; screams; and talk that no one can understand.  Some favorite parts were some characters sniffing each other; Candace and Stacy speaking to each other with drums and logs; Dr. Doof laughing at water dripping off a rock; and of course having Dan Povenmire and Jeff “Swampy” Marsh stepping in throughout the episode to describe what is going on in a stop motion photo animation.  Dr. Doof’s first ever inator was shown which was a stick.  Yeah a stick.  And there was the accidental discovery of fire by Candace.  But the best part of the episode was the dancing at the end.  Who knew that Dan and Jeff could dance that good?

Keep on dancing gentlemen.  By the way I loved the background stuff like all of the guitars;  the leg lamp from A Christmas Story; Perry the inaction figure; and the various Phineas and Ferb stuff.

The next episode was Doof Dynasty and it takes viewers to ancient China as Doofus Khan kidnapped Princess Isabella and its up to Phineas and Ferb and their friends to learn the ways of the platypus from Master Perry.  We learned that no one can see Perry’s  flashbacks; and Phineas and Ferb helped build the Great Wall of China.

The next episode Excaliferb is set in medieval times.  This was a great spoof of The Lord of the Rings.  The story is told by Carl the Intern while Major Monogram is sick in bed.  Wizards Phineas and Ferb which are very good in mixing potions go on a journey to find the legendary sword of Excaliferb.  They have to defeat Millifishmirtz and his minions made out of canned meat; yeah this is weird right.  The great battle scenes between the monsters and the canned meat minions reminded me of the battle scenes in the Power Rangers.  We learned how lawn gnomes got their start; the start of e-mail; and Carl the Intern has a huge appetite.

The last time shift episode Phineas and Ferb and the Temple of Juatchadoon; airs tonight at 5:30pm central on Disney XD.  This is a spoof of Indiana Jones as Phineas (Ohio) Flynn and Ferb (Rhode Island) Fletcher goes to South America to help find Isabella’s mother.  And Dr. Doof tries to use the amulet of Juatchadoon to awaken the corn colossus.

These were great Phineas and Ferb episodes and I am sure this is not the last time we will see Phineas and Ferb episodes that are not set in Danville.  They were a lot of fun to follow and keep it up!
